"I'm imagining the trailer"

Hi there,

My family is traveling to Iceland this week, and as we were talking about what to expect, our daughter said, “I’m trying to picture the trailer.”

At first, we thought it was a non sequitur, before she clarified: She was trying to picture the trailer of our trip. I thought that was such a cool way of thinking about things. Life is stories, after all. How are you imagining the trailer for something coming up in your life? If it’s a thriller, could it be a heartwarming drama, instead? If it’s a tragedy, could you imagine it as a comedy?

I’m keeping it short this week because we’re leaving for the airport soon. I’ll be back in two weeks, and in addition to the Friday reflection, I have conversations with so many interesting, brilliant women coming up.
