Strategic Story Tune-Up

Sale Price:$3,749.00 Original Price:$3,999.00
sale

You have a story to tell — about your organization, project, or team — and you know you need to tell it better if you’re going to achieve your goals. Maybe you’ve never felt the story was quite right, or maybe it was right at one point but time has passed, the world has changed, and it needs to be refreshed. Whatever the case may be, have no fear! A Strategic Story Tune-up will quickly put you on the right path, leaving you feeling clear, confident, and energized (that’s what our clients tell us!).

A storytelling expert you can trust:

Your tuner-upper will be storytelling expert Amanda Hirsch, who’s been a featured speaker at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, SXSW, Etsy, and other venues, and who has been a storytelling advisor to leaders from Adobe, Malala Fund, TEDWomen, and many other organizations. Amanda is the former editorial director of PBS.org and a former producer for washingtonpost.com. Her friend Lisa Gates (a Top LinkedIn Voice) calls Amanda an “improvisational strategist” because she works fast, integrating information quickly — and also because she has a background in improv comedy, and makes the work fun.

What’s included:

  • Story Questionnaire - You fill out my signature story questionnaire to give me insight into who you are, the work you do, and why it’s important to you to tell your story more effectively. I’ll also gather information about the resources you have available for telling your story so I can right-size my recommendations later in the process. People tell me they get a lot of value from reflecting on the questions I ask, even before I offer an ounce of feedback or guidance.

  • Story Audit - I do a thorough review of your online presence and/or other materials you share and create a story audit report that reflects back to you the story or stories you’re currently telling, noting any gaps or inconsistencies. People find it hugely helpful to hear how an outsider processes the information they’re currently sharing about themselves/their work.

  • Story Coaching - We meet over Zoom for a story coaching session. I ask clarifying questions based on both your questionnaire responses and my audit and we have a rich conversation. My goal: Glean the “big picture” behind your story and gain a felt sense of what’s most important to you so I can recommend changes to both the narrative you’re sharing, and how you’re sharing it.

  • Story Map - I create a document describing the top 3-5 steps I recommend you take to strengthen your story so you can prioritize your next steps. I will focus my recommendations on what’s feasible within your existing resources, while also noting 1-2 stretch steps — things that would require additional investment but would go a long way to helping you reach your goals.

Pending each of our schedules, I’m available to do this work in more of a “sprint” fashion (across 1-2 weeks); otherwise, it typically spans a 3-4-week period.
