For when you can't figure out why people don't seem to care

Sale Price: $1,750.00 Original Price: $2,499.00

The work of your org is undeniably urgent, so why don’t other people seem to feel the same urgency?? Why aren’t they clicking on your links, opening your emails, attending your events? Why aren’t they buying tickets or donating?

It’s not for lack of talent, smarts, or heart — you’re just stuck in a rut. It’s demoralizing, it’s embarrassing, and maybe it makes you look bad to the people to whom you’re accountable.

You crave fresh ideas that are grounded in an understanding of your limited resources, that can energize your team and get you some “wins” you feel good about.

What you don’t need: a whole bloated “thing” with an agency. Instead, you need a quick shot in the arm of fresh perspective from someone with deep expertise grounded in practical experience. And you need a thought partner who isn’t just peddling a one-size-fits-all approach — someone whose background in improv comedy makes her quick on her feet, highly generative and collaborative, and frankly a barrel of laughs to work with, if she does say so herself (also her clients say it).

What’s included:

  • Story audit - Before we ever meet, I’ll do a thorough review of your online presence and other key materials you share and create a story audit that reflects back to you the story or stories you’re currently telling, noting any gaps or inconsistencies. There is no substitute for having someone outside the org reflect back to you how the content you’re working so hard to share is landing. The audit will also include some concrete recommendations as jumping off points for discussion during our workshop.

  • Intro call - Next, we’ll have an intro call where you can walk me through how you’re feeling stuck, as well as quickly orient me to your storytelling assets — team member expertise, networks you’re part of, etc. Where necessary, I’m happy to have up to 3 separate intro calls (rather than a single intro call) when people or teams with different perspectives may benefit from sharing feedback outside of a mixed group setting. This call comes after I’ve done the story audit so my review of your story isn’t affected by what you share with me.

  • Story workshop - We meet over Zoom or in-person* for a customized story workshop. I present my story audit and recommendations and facilitate conversation around those recommendations. As a group, we do a visioning exercise to help us articulate the org’s greater narrative potential. Attendees complete a series of creative exercises to help them tap into new possibilities around the org’s narrative. The workshop is typically 3 hours with 2 20-minute breaks, and accommodates up to 10 participants; if you have a larger group, just let me know and I can customize my approach accordingly.

  • Story Map - After our time together, I’ll create a one-page “story map” that suggests the fresh, timely narrative opportunity I see around your org. As part of this, I’ll also revisit my story audit recommendations, refining and/or replacing them with the collective wisdom and creativity that emerged during our workshop.

If you want additional writing, editing, or strategy support as you put new ideas into practice, you may wish to purchase my Editorial Support Bundle.

*I am Please note, I aspire to make my business accessible for you and sustainable for me. If your financial circumstances are such that spreading payment out over 3-6 months would make it more possible or comfortable for you to invest in your story, then I am more than happy to accommodate that - just reach out. If, on the other hand, your financial circumstances are such that this is a comfortable or small investment for you, I ask that you pay in full upfront, to help balance my cash flow. If you’d like to donate to a fund I maintain to provide pro bono services, please let me know.
